The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia

Broadcast Pioneers member Sandee Bengel-Clark started at four years of age doing musical theatre in a regional theatre group called the “Script-Teasers” in Washington Township, NJ under the direction of Paula Aaronson.

She was in continuous musical theatre plays growing up; singing, dancing, and acting. Her mom (the very NON-stage mom) started taking her to NYC on auditions under the management of Florence Creasy. At the age of 12, she landed a series of voice-overs for Aviscom Productions on The Big Blue Marble Show which made her eligible to join the Screen Actor’s Guild in 1976.

She did a lot more theatre and singing through the years studying with the talented Russell Faith. She was a regular on the Al Alberts’ show and sang at Hershey Park, Pa. with the Al Alberts’ show. She was active in all her high school musicals in Paul VI, Haddonfield, NJ having leads all four years.

After high school, she was a regular performer in the Miss NJ pageants in the “80s” in between the contestants. She studied communications at Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ and Glassboro State (Rowan) in Glassboro, NJ.

She also studied at PB cosmetology center in Gloucester,NJ and got her beautician’s license and her cosmetology teacher’s license. A former hairdresser, haircutting and manicuring teacher, and salon co-owner of the former, Proformance Cuts Salon in West Berlin , NJ ( closed in 2011).

Throughout the years, she has done commercial work, commercial print, nightclubs, film, and TV. A current member of SAG-AFTRA, Sandee enjoys doing film work both in Philadelphia and NY. She enjoys singing at the Italian American Heritage Festival at Rose Tree Park in Media, Pa. and throughout the Delaware Valley. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity, and PaFia and especially loves the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia.
